Ben - One Year Old!

No more babies in the Hawkins house anymore!  Sweet Ben is a toddler and keeping his momma busy in true toddler fashion!!  If he isn't trying to climb the staircase, he is trying to play in the toilet.  He rarely sits still and quite moments make me nervous.  Silence means trouble!  But little Ben is still such a sweet boy with such a contagious smile!  He loves, loves, loves books and often brings them over to you to read.  Over and over and over and over.  He is starting to point at different objects around the house and likes to take blocks in and out of buckets.  Over and over and over and over.

Ben definitely has a stronger temper than his brother (or I just blocked that memory from my mind) and will quickly let you know when he is not happy.  But he is so snuggly and loves to be held.  He is also quite the eater.  I would guess that he out-eats Henry in almost every meal.  I'm pretty sure this won't last so I am trying to take advantage of his open and willing palate.  Ben is still crawling around and cruising along the furniture, walls or whatever he can pull up on.  I'm hoping he will want to walk soon, but right now he doesn't show much interest.

Henry, Ryan and I just adore this little boy, and I think he is pretty fond of us too!  Happy (belated) birthday to our sweet Ben!

Ben - Eleven Months!

This guy is 11 months old.  It is just so hard to believe!  Ben continues to be such a joy, shaggy hair and all.  He has gone from army crawling to the standard crawl, and a speedy crawl I might add.  Ben has become quite the dancer and love to bounce to music.  His obsession with Henry continues to grow, and I believe this is wearing on Henry's nerves!

We finally found a food item that Ben does not like - cantaloupe.  I know this isn't very exciting, but Ben the Billy Goat will eat just about anything you put in front of him.  He is still very picky about his bottle (which he still does not like to take from me.)  My goal (and his school's goal) is to have him on a cold bottle by his first birthday.  I don't see this happening though.  He will take water from a sippy cup, so there is hope.

I caved and scheduled Ben for a haircut this Friday.  I'm sad about it, but the shaggy look just doesn't work for him :)

not a great picture, but I love the color of his eyes
