Picnic at the Park

Henry and I decided to have a picnic at the park last Thursday.  I packed up a yummy lunch of PB&J sandwiches and sliced watermelon during his morning nap.  Both lunch items were a big hit - and very messy.  I didn't consider the sticky peanut butter fingers and watermelon juice dribbling down his clothes.  Probably not the best choices for a 12-month old, but Henry didn't care!

We also hit up the swings on our stroll back to the car.  Henry showed a teeny-tiny bit more emotion than our first swing adventure.  I actually got a few toothy grins out of him!  It was a great day!

Cruisin'

We took Henry on his first wagon ride on Saturday.  We had a nice thunderstorm in the early afternoon so the weather wasn't too bad - only mildly scorching.  Our neighborhood stroll was a big hit, and Henry had a great time.

I must say the wagons these days are pretty sweet.  Henry had it made with a nice backrest, seatbelt and FOUR cup holders.  That is a lot of sippy cups, folks.  My guess is next year's model will come with leather seats, satellite radio and GPS.  Please don't tell Henry...

Birthday Extravaganza(s)

Henry had a great first birthday!  We celebrated part one at the beach with Henny and Doot since we had a long Memorial Day weekend.

There was some naked pool time:

There were some silly family photos:

Some before cake photos:

And some after cake photos:

Henry played with some new toys:

We celebrated part two of the birthday extravaganza at our house on Sunday.  We had family and a few friends over and had a wonderful time.

And in true one-year old fashion, the biggest hits were the plastic hangers and tissue paper:
