We Love You Because....

We love you because you were so brand-new and wonderful.

We love you because you would break out into a slow, sweet grin.

We love you because you had the most adorable chubby arms, legs, checks, etc.

We love you because you shared with us some giggles.

We love you because you finally slept through the night.

We love you because you discovered that toes were awesome.

We love you because, well, just look at that face!

We love you because you had (and still have) some crazy hair days.

We love you because you looked so cute in sunglasses

We love you because bath time was always so much fun.

We love you because of your silly faces.

We love you because you are you.  Happy first birthday to our sweet Henry!

First Haircut

Someone needed a haircut.

Henry's bangs were just getting too long.  The side-swept part wasn't working anymore.

But I was afraid to get his hair cut.  I was afraid he would lose his sweet curls.  Mostly, I was afraid he would start looking like a little boy.  So Henry got his first haircut today while I also had mine done as well.  It wasn't so scary (at least for me). Just a trim of the bangs. I'm happy to report the curls are still there, and most importantly, he still looks like my little baby.

Lovey

Meet Blue Bear.  This is Henry's new favorite bedtime buddy.  We've had Blue Bear since Henry was born, but he has just now realized how awesome this bear is.  Henry insists on grabbing Blue Bear when we get him up in the morning or after nap time, and I've enjoyed watching the many "conversations" they have throughout the day.  I don't know if Blue Bear will rise to the status of Blue Circle, but I'm glad I bought a spare!

sometimes it is just easier to carry things in our mouth while we crawl.

Happy Mother's Day (second attempt)

Henry made me a very sweet Mother's Day card.  Ryan "supervised" and took pictures:

I am so lucky to have this wonderful little boy in my life!

A View from Above

It is getting hard to "escape" now that Henry is on the move.  No matter where you go (bedroom, kitchen, bathroom), Henry is not far behind.  And it is inevitable that a pair of sweet little hands will be grabbing at your pant legs wanting you to pick him up. Sweet Henry doesn't understand that we just cannot pick him up everytime.  So Henry gives you this face.  A lot:

But it is pretty great when we get this face:
