11 Months

The countdown to the big birthday has officially begun!  I think the biggest change we've seen in Henry this past month is that he is acting less like a baby and more like a toddler.  He can dance and wave bye-bye.  He explores the house leaving a trail of debris behind him.  He can throw a pretty impressive tantrum if he is in the mood.  He can even roll a ball (at least we say he can).  Really, he doesn't even look much like a baby anymore.  *sigh*

These Are a Few of My Favorite Things...

Henry has grown rather attached to a few of his toys.  We don't know why he has picked these particular items, but he loves them.  In fact, they are often pictured in a lot of his photos.  Whatever makes him happy, right??

So please let me introduce the favorites:

This is his absolute favorite toy, and it has been for some time.  It makes sense to me:  easy to hold, colorful and fun to chew.  The nuby ring has been all over town.

His next two favorites I don't really get.  First, meet Towsacanoe the Native American tugboat.  Tows-a-canoe, get it??  Ryan named him during one of Henry's bath time singing sessions.  Don't ask.  Anyway, Henry has taken a particular liking to this bath toy.  So Towsacanoe has graduated from only a bath time toy to an all the time 24/7 toy.

And now we have Blue Circle.  Ryan dubs Blue Circle as the faithful sidekick to Towsacanoe.  There are some pretty serious plotlines around here, folks.  Blue Circle hails from Henry's Fisher-Price shape sorter.  The shape sorter also contains a red triangle, green square, orange star and purple cross.  But in Henry's eyes, those other shapes pale in comparison to the mighty Blue Circle.  Blue Circle is a frequent companion at dinner time, trips to Gail's house and has even visited the zoo.

Honorable Mentions:

The Green Star is part of Henry's musical star stacker.  It has been a pretty popular toy lately, but hasn't been part of "the crew" long enough to label it one of his favorites.  Green Star is a popular choice when Henry's crawls around the house.

Henry loves my cell phone.  In fact, my phone was the key to encouraging Henry to crawl.  It can also be a pretty ugly scene when you take it away from him.  Henry doesn't often show his temper, but he will let you have it when you take away the phone.

Memorial Gardens 2011

Nana (Ryan's mom) and I took Henry to the Memorial Gardens yesterday to see the tulips and take some pictures.  The place was gorgeous.  Tulips were everywhere and in every color imaginable.  I'm looking forward to this new spring tradition!

Big Boy Crib

We had to lower Henry's crib mattress this weekend.  This is why:
